QNB Egypt, a subsidiary of QNB Group, a leading financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, has arranged a long-term financing facility for the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) to support the development of a new international school campus in Amreya, Alexandria.
The project represents AASTMT's expansion into the pre-university education sector and aims to meet the growing demand for international education in Egypt. The campus will comprise dedicated facilities for both the British and American educational systems, offering a full academic cycle from Kindergarten through Senior School, with an ultimate capacity of approximately 3,000 students.
QNB Egypt is financing approximately 71% of the project’s total financing requirements, which include the construction of two academic buildings comprising 150 classrooms. The academy will provide the laboratories, educational facilities, and supporting infrastructure, incorporating the latest technological and artificial intelligence advancements in line with international standards.
This financing underscores QNB Egypt's commitment to supporting investment in strategic sectors. It also reflects the Bank's continued role as a trusted growth partner, providing tailored financing solutions that support impactful projects and national development priorities.
It also reaffirms the success of the partnership between the two parties—established in 1984, during which the bank provided a wide range of banking and financing services—and underscores the importance of collaboration between the financial and educational sectors.
Mr. Mohamed Bedeir, Chief Executive Officer of QNB Egypt, said: “At QNB Egypt, we remain focused on supporting projects that create long-term value and contribute to the development of essential services. Through our financing solutions and strong client partnerships, we continue to enable investments that support growth across priority sectors.”
Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, said: “This project marks an important milestone in AASTMT's strategy to expand its educational services and strengthen its contribution to Egypt's education sector. We value our longstanding relationship with QNB Egypt, which extends over four decades, and appreciate the Bank's support in helping bring this strategic project to execution.”
